Hollywood has had a massive impact from the coronavirus pandemic with cinematic releases being put to a dead-stop and even the MCU hasn’t escaped the coronavirus. Sony Pictures have revealed that they’ve delayed their unnamed Spider-Man sequels due to the pandemic.
The release date for Spider-Man Far From Home was originally due for the 16th of July, 2021. But it has now been pushed back to the 5th of November. The sequel for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has also been pushed back from the 8th of April, 2022 to the 7th of October, 2022.
Both films achieved great success in 2019, with Spider-Man: Far From Home grossing $1.13 billion at the global box office while Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won the Academy Award for Best Animated Movie while grossing $375 million globally.
There are still many films that were due to release that haven’t received new release dates with production companies working hard behind the scenes to see when they could jiggle the schedule.
For now, there’s always rewatches!
