The Scooby-Doo franchise is one of the longest lasting ones, with many adaptations and beloved characters that have stemmed across the last fifty years. One of the most iconic characters is that of Shaggy, a product of his age who has a ‘hippy’ nature and is best friends with Scooby.
His voice and mannerisms have been something that have been tried and tested by many actors and the latest in Scoob! is Will Forte. In an interview with Cinemablend, the actor opened up about the pressure it put on him to take on the legendary role, even if it was an honour for him to be a part of.
It was very stressful because it’s a character that I’ve loved forever, and I’m so used to those… Casey Kasem’s voice obviously is one of the most iconic voices of all time, and then Matthew Lillard I thought did an amazing job. So it was stressful cause my voice is different than theirs.

Despite this, the actor found strength to carry on with the role alongside director Tony Cervone who persuaded him to make the character his own rather than an imitation of his Shaggy predecessors. Alongside Forte, other actors who have taken on the roles of the rest of Mystery Inc. are Zac Efron, Amanda Seyfried, Jason Isaacs, Gina Rodriguez, Ken Jeong, Mark Wahlberg and Kiersey Clemons alongside others.
The film is available for digital purchase today and a premiere is being hosted on the Scoob! site here. Be sure to follow for film news and updates on new releases.
